Julia “Bish” Robson
Julia Bish Robson, not long ago was a small streamer like many of you. But now after just 7 months shes sponsored by MSI and World Sports Betting. We chatted to Julia recently to find out more.
Julia Bish of the house Robson, first of her name, the unburnt, queen of the PUBG and first of men, camper of the great grass sea, breaker of rules and mother of gaming.
Bend the knee, or get wrecked.
Q: Why did you get into streaming?
A: It started at Dreamhack Winter in 2015, I streamed myself playing and the stage was right behind me. Somehow quite a few people joined in on the stream and I was really enjoying sharing y gaming experience.
Returning to South Africa, I struggled to find a place with good enough internet, but really wanted to build a brand as a esports personality. I made it work by driving to offices to stream and staying at friends, until ultimately I found a place of my own with Fibre.
Streaming has been a way for me to interact with the community and just have fun.
Q: Who else do you watch on Twitch?
A: I watch a lot of esports tournaments, mostly majors and qualifiers. Other times I will watch shroud, drdisrespect and sometimes join in on small streamers’ channels to explore new content.
Q: What advice can you give other new streamers?
A: Don’t think of views. Just stream. No point in getting frustrated that you arent getting more than a handful of viewers as it shows on stream and the viewers who are currently watching get annoyed. Just keep grinding and advertise your stream on valid platforms. The most important piece of advice is to always produce a stream better than the previous one and give your viewers something special and original that goes along with your personality so you will be remembered.
Q: What are your plans for your gaming career?
A: I would like to push Bish as far as I possibly can. I have some milestones I’d love to reach, such as become twitch partner, go to twitchcon, play in a female qualifier to an international event, visit more international events such as ESL One and do some presenting/hosting work. There after I would like to help run/manage esport events myself.
Q: What are your favourite games right now?
Counter-strike: Gobal Offensive and soon to be Battalion 1944.
I enjoy PUBG too, but it might get overplayed very soon.
Q: You seem pretty into fitness. Any tips for other gamers? Whats on your routine?
Foam rolling your shoulders is my top tip!
There after, eating healthier and drinking at least 2 liters of water a day.
My routine consists of cardio to get my blood flowing and always improving on my weight training.
Personally, my routine is quite all rounded as I mostly focus on my back, legs and abs.
Eating healthy is the first step though!
Q: Will you be visiting any upcoming gaming events?
A: I am hoping to visit ESL One events this year and possibly GamesCon in Abu Dhabi again.
Most other events will be in South Africa, such as Rage EXPO.
Q: How would you rate your skills as a gamer?
A: I would consider myself above average as a PC Gamer. Console, not so much XD
Q: Whats the most awkward/funny moment on your stream?
A: Falling off my chair after a 12 hours stream or being attached by a beetle during a very intense CSGO match.
