Fortnite may have debuted on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but the new mobile version of the game is grabbing headlines for its incredible sales figures. According to mobile stats website Sensor Tower, Fortnite on iOS has already grossed more than $25 million in its first 30 days of availability. Fortnite has yet to release on Android devices, but the website predicts, if the Android version releases by this summer, mobile versions of the game could gross more than $500 million this year.
Fortnite Mobile started as an invite-only iOS test, but then released for all iPhone and iPad users at the start of April. Sensor Tower reports average daily player spending in the game has already topped a total $1 million (despite the game being free to download and play); second only to Netflix on the US App Store. Regardless of when it’s released, Fortnite’s sales will undoubtably continue to skyrocket once the Android version is released. This is a safe bet, especially given that a China release of Fortnite may be in the future, and China is a huge consumer of Android devices (although there’s no official word on which platforms Chinese players will get Fortnite on).
In other Fortnite news, a new set of challenges is now live for Battle Pass holders. It includes challenges like dealing a certain amount of damage to opponents’ structures, building 250 of your own structures, or visiting three Taco Shops in a single match.
